About

An accountancy practice that builds things.

Linx Automate is the automation practice of Linx Accounting Services Limited. It exists because the people asking us to fix their finance processes did not need a bigger finance team — they needed the routine half of the work to stop needing people.

Why this sits inside a practice

There are two obvious places to buy finance automation, and both of them are missing something.

Software vendors sell a product that has to work the same way for every customer, so the awkward parts of your process — the ones that are awkward precisely because they are yours — are the parts it does not cover. Development agencies will build exactly what you describe, quickly and competently, and have no professional reason to ask whether the step you have asked them to delete was holding a control in place.

We sit in the third position. We are accountants, so we know what a purchase ledger is for and what an auditor will ask about it. And we build, so the answer to a process problem is not always a recommendation that somebody else implements.

What we are regulated to do

Linx Accounting Services Limited is licensed and regulated by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, licence number 4859891. The ACCA is also our supervisory authority under the Money Laundering, Terrorist Financing and Transfer of Funds (Information on the Payer) Regulations 2017.

That regulation applies to the accountancy work. Building an automation is not itself a regulated activity, but the professional obligations we work under — competence, due care, confidentiality, and an obligation not to act beyond our expertise — do not switch off because the deliverable is technical. Where a question falls outside our licensed scope, particularly on local tax and regulatory matters outside the UK, we will say so and work alongside your own adviser.

What we will not claim

This service line is new, and you will not find statistics, case studies, testimonials or client logos anywhere on this site. That is deliberate. There are no delivered engagements under this brand yet, so any figure we published would have been invented, and a firm that invents its first number is not one you should let near your purchase ledger.

What replaces them is a fixed-fee first engagement that produces something you can judge on its own merits, and that you keep regardless of what you decide to do next. That is a deliberately easy thing to walk away from.

The other Linx brands

Linx Accounting Services Limited operates as Linx Automate for this work, and as Linx Tax Defence for HMRC enquiries, investigations and disclosures. Both are trading names of the same regulated company, with the same professional obligations behind them.
